Equipment

  • Chef's Knife

Ingredients

  • 2 Red bell pepper
  • 2 cups Baby carrots
  • 1 Yellow bell pepper
  • Candy eyeballs
  • 1 crown Broccoli
  • 2 cups Baby carrots
  • 2 Cucumbers
  • 1 cup Snap peas
  • Dip

Instructions

  • Start by gathering your ingredients on a clean cutting board. Wash the red bell peppers, yellow bell pepper, broccoli, carrots, cucumbers, and snap peas. Having everything prepped makes the assembly much easier.
  • Take one of the red bell peppers and cut off the bottom to create a flat base. This will help it stand sturdy when you place it on the platter.
  • To create the turkey's beak, use a baby carrot. Cut a small piece and attach it to the front of the bell pepper. Then, cut another piece of the yellow pepper to form the wattle. You can place it under the beak or just above it for a unique look.
  • Next, grab your candy eyeballs. Place them above the beak on the bell pepper to give your turkey a lively face. This step is where the fun begins!
  • Now, let’s prepare the platter. Start with a large serving plate or cutting board. Layer the sliced cucumbers first in a half-circle around the platter; this will serve as a border.
  • Continue layering by adding the baby carrots, followed by the yellow and red bell peppers. Make smaller half circles with the broccoli pieces to fill in the gaps.
  • At the bottom of the platter, arrange the snap peas in a line. Their bright green color will draw attention and balance the other colors.
  • Finally, place your bowl of dip in the center of the platter. This creates a focal point and invites guests to dig in!
  • Once everything is assembled, step back and admire your creation. You’ve made a lovely Turkey Veggie Tray that’s sure to impress everyone!

Notes

  • Storage: Store any leftover veggies in airtight containers in the refrigerator. They’ll stay fresh for several days, perfect for snacking.
  • Freezing: Most of the ingredients are best enjoyed fresh and crunchy; however, you can also freeze some veggies for later use in soups or stir-fries.
  • Pairing: This recipe pairs well with various dips, such as ranch, hummus, or a yogurt-based dip. Feel free to experiment!
  • Be creative: You can adapt the arrangement based on the theme of your gathering, using different colors or shapes of vegetables.
  • Make it a family activity: Involve your kids in the preparation process; it’s a great way to teach them about healthy eating habits.
