Equipment

  • Wooden Spoon
  • Cutting Board
  • Chef's Knife

Ingredients

  • 3 medium Avocado ripe
  • 2 medium Roma tomatoes diced small
  • 1 medium Lime juiced
  • 1 clove Garlic minced
  • 1/4 cup Cilantro stems trimmed and finely chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon Sea salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Tony Chachere seasoning optional for added spice

Instructions

  • Slice the avocados in half and remove the seeds. With a spoon, scoop out the avocado and add to a medium bowl. Mash with a fork until the consistency is how you like it. If you like some texture, stop mashing when there are still small chunks of avocado.
  • Add diced tomatoes, lime juice, minced garlic, chopped cilantro, sea salt, and onion powder. If you like a little bit of heat and flavor, add the Tony Chachere seasoning. Stir everything together to combine.
  • Taste and add more salt and lime juice if it seems like it needs more flavor. Refrigerate for 1 hour for best flavor, or serve immediately.
  • You can store in an airtight container for 3 days in the fridge. The less air the guacamole is exposed to, the less it will turn brown. If there is a layer of brown on top, with a spoon, carefully scrape it off and enjoy the fresh green guacamole underneath.

Notes

  • Storage: To store leftovers, place them in an airtight container with plastic wrap pressed against the surface to avoid browning.
  • Freezing: Guacamole can be frozen! Just make sure to store it in a freezer-safe container while pressing out as much air as possible.
  • Pairing: This guacamole pairs beautifully with tortilla chips, fresh vegetables, or as a topping for enchiladas.
  • Freshness is Key: Always use fresh ingredients for the best flavor. Avoid using pre-packaged guacamole mixes.
  • Make It Your Own: Feel free to add in extras like diced jalapeƱos, corn, or even mango for a unique twist!
