- 3 medium Avocado ripe
- 2 medium Roma tomatoes diced small
- 1 medium Lime juiced
- 1 clove Garlic minced
- 1/4 cup Cilantro stems trimmed and finely chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon Sea salt
- 1/2 teaspoon Onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon Tony Chachere seasoning optional for added spice
Slice the avocados in half and remove the seeds. With a spoon, scoop out the avocado and add to a medium bowl. Mash with a fork until the consistency is how you like it. If you like some texture, stop mashing when there are still small chunks of avocado.
Add diced tomatoes, lime juice, minced garlic, chopped cilantro, sea salt, and onion powder. If you like a little bit of heat and flavor, add the Tony Chachere seasoning. Stir everything together to combine.
Taste and add more salt and lime juice if it seems like it needs more flavor. Refrigerate for 1 hour for best flavor, or serve immediately.
You can store in an airtight container for 3 days in the fridge. The less air the guacamole is exposed to, the less it will turn brown. If there is a layer of brown on top, with a spoon, carefully scrape it off and enjoy the fresh green guacamole underneath.
- Storage: To store leftovers, place them in an airtight container with plastic wrap pressed against the surface to avoid browning.
- Freezing: Guacamole can be frozen! Just make sure to store it in a freezer-safe container while pressing out as much air as possible.
- Pairing: This guacamole pairs beautifully with tortilla chips, fresh vegetables, or as a topping for enchiladas.
- Freshness is Key: Always use fresh ingredients for the best flavor. Avoid using pre-packaged guacamole mixes.
- Make It Your Own: Feel free to add in extras like diced jalapeƱos, corn, or even mango for a unique twist!
