- 1 tablespoon low-sugar strawberry preserves
- 6 ounces plain fat-free yogurt
- 1.5 tablespoons turbinado sugar or sugar in the raw
- 1 sliced strawberry to top
Place low-sugar strawberry preserves at the bottom of a 6 or 7 oz ramekin.
Combine plain fat-free yogurt with 1/2 tablespoon turbinado sugar, then add to the ramekin.
When ready to eat, top with the remaining turbinado sugar (make sure you are ready with the torch so the sugar doesn't dissolve).
Use a torch to melt the sugar and form a crispy top.
Cool for a few minutes then top with sliced strawberry. Serve immediately.
- Storage: For best results, store any leftover Healthy Creme Brulee without the caramelized sugar topping. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for up to three days.
- Freezing: While it’s not recommended to freeze the entire dessert, you can freeze the yogurt mixture before caramelizing. Allow it to thaw and then torch the sugar for freshness.
- Pairing: This dessert pairs beautifully with a cup of herbal tea or a light dessert wine, enhancing the dining experience.
- Seasonal Fruits: Feel free to experiment with different fruits for the preserves. Blueberries or raspberries can offer a delightful twist!
- Adding Spices: For a unique flavor, consider adding a pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg to the yogurt mixture before layering.
